Maybe so, but Kubo-sensei, the author himself, found it appropriate for the two of them to be lounging alone together on a beach in what he calls “resort clothing” with a chilled bottle drink in between them, Rukia with her leg hiked up and eyes half-lidded, Ichigo dressed in Rukia’s designated colors, and both of them gazing happily at each other.
